I’m sure we’re all familiar with the term “the hate is real”. Hate in our culture is defined as someone’s dislike or distaste for you. And with hate we have “haters”. Haters according to urban dictionary is defined as “a person that simply cannot be happy for another person’s success. So rather than be happy they make a point of exposing a flaw in that person“. So what does all this mean? Well simply put my dear… everybody ain’t gonna like you! Simply bc you’re you. And i like to think that haters truly have their own inner brokenness that goes far beyond the individual they’re hating on. Please understand that no matter how good or great you are there will always be AT LEAST one that’s gonna be against you. And that’s okay. Be okay with having haters! Embrace them!
Transparency: I recently was informed of negative information that was completely false about me and members of my family! My first reaction? SNAP! Cuss them out. Air them out on social media! Let them know you ain’t the one! But once my anger subsided i realized this.. after lashing out what would be proven? And ultimately how am i any different than the person who attempted to defame me and my family’s character? At this point i had a choice. React out of anger… or use it as fuel.
With that being said i decided to write this blog to encourage everyone to not get caught up in what a hater got to say! Instead give them grace! Because we (my family) gave grace it was given to me and my family! literally everyone in my family has been celebrating win after win! Blessing after blessing! Psalms 23:5 “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows“. Without even knowing, the same people who talked about us are now celebrating us! Smh funny how life turns around! Now just think of all the blessing we would’ve forfeited had we done things our own way!
God’s grace is often talked about in the scriptures and how it was awarded to us as redemption. Romans 3:24 says “all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus“. The same way God grants us redemption through grace is the same way we should grant our haters grace! And if that wasn’t enough God tells us in his word 2 Corinthians 12:9 “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” This means even in our weaknesses when haters have thrown dirt on our names God’s power is perfect and his grace is enough for us!
So I want you all to leave with this, 1. Examine yourself… are you a hater? If so, figure out why and alter it. Give that brokenness to God and be healed! 2. If faced with a hater what will you do? You gon pop off? Or Let God’s Grace fight for you? Think about it.
Man the hate be real, but so is God’s Grace
Give yourself and others the grace that God gives to you
